Official Biography
Italian singer and performer, Manuel Aspidi combines a powerful, soulful voice with a refined pop sensibility. From prime-time TV shows to international charts, his career bridges the Italian scene and the global music world.
Early years
Manuel Aspidi was born in Livorno, Italy, in 1987. He started studying voice at the age of six and, as a teenager, won several national singing competitions. Alongside pop, soul and blues, he also explored classical music: as a dramatic tenor in Maestro Preziosi’s choir he performed in productions of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Madama Butterfly, Carmina Burana, Don Pasquale and Norma on tour across Italian theatres.
Breakthrough on Italian TV
In 2006 Manuel joined the popular TV talent show “Amici di Maria De Filippi”. His debut single Soli a metà quickly became a summer hit, topping the Italian charts for months and achieving two Gold Records and one Platinum Record. It was one of the very first major chart successes to come out of the show.
He later released several singles, including Not Like Me, written by Nick Scotti (known for his collaborations with Madonna), and the Italian songs Che senso ha and Non ci aspettiamo più, penned by acclaimed songwriter Niccolò Agliardi.
The Voice of Italy and artistic growth
In 2016 Manuel returned to national television on The Voice of Italy. Performing Love Runs Out by OneRepublic during the blind auditions, he convinced all four coaches and chose Raffaella Carrà as his mentor. This experience opened a new chapter, leading him towards more personal and mature artistic choices.
In 2018 he released the single L’uso delle mani, a powerful song against gender-based violence and femicide. The video went on to surpass one million views, confirming his ability to combine a strong social message with emotional pop writing.
“Libero (I’m Free)” and first international steps
In 2019 Manuel launched his first international project: the EP Libero (I’m Free), released by Thomas Music & Art Label. The record was produced with outstanding musicians such as Phil Palmer, Alan Clark (Dire Straits) and Julian Victor Hinton.
The single Un Angelo per me exceeded 300,000 views on YouTube, while the title track Libero (I’m Free) gained tens of thousands of streams on Spotify and entered various independent charts. The EP as a whole collected more than 197,000 streams in a short time, marking Manuel’s entry onto the international scene.
“Let Out This Light” and worldwide recognition
Later in 2019 he released “Let Out This Light”, written by Julian Victor Hinton. The song received enthusiastic feedback from international media for both the vocal performance and the production. Its official video, shot in Manuel’s hometown Livorno, was broadcast on more than 80 TV networks worldwide.
The single entered the TOP 50 World Adult Contemporary Billboard Chart, where it remained for several months, and reached the No. 1 position in the World Indie Music Chart in Europe.
Social commitment and new releases
In June 2020 Manuel released “Last Call” in collaboration with WWF Italy, on the occasion of World Environment Day established by the United Nations. All proceeds from the song were donated to the organisation. The track entered several radio charts, including in the United States.
He then continued to alternate original material and tributes: the new version Soli a metà 2.0, the unreleased song Non passerà written by the late Alex Baroni together with his historic team, and Manuel’s heartfelt interpretation of Baroni’s classic Cambiare. In 2022 his single “Mi Respiri Accanto” held the No. 1 spot in the SuperKlassifica chart for several weeks.
“Wildfire” and the Bentley Records era
In 2024 Manuel began a new chapter in the United States with the single “Wildfire”, released by New York–based label Bentley Records. Produced by Miro Markus and Imad Eljattari, the track blends contemporary pop with cinematic atmospheres. The video and the song were showcased in Times Square, while the single entered the Top 10 of the iTunes Charts in Canada, attracting the attention of international press.
“Eternal Echoes” and recent work
On 13 November 2024 Manuel released “Eternal Echoes”, a powerful anthem to love beyond prejudice and labels. The song quickly reached the No. 1 position in the Top 100 World Indie Charts and No. 2 in the TopSound European Indie Chart, confirming his growing relevance within the global independent scene.

Alongside music, Manuel is now expanding his career into acting. In collaboration with Settembre Produzioni he is involved in several film projects, including a feature film with well-known Italian actors, a musical movie shot between Trentino and South Tyrol, and a film with Italian–American director Max Leonida.
